SECRETARY’S APRIL 2010 MESSAGE

Its April month now Hiramites! The birth month of strong and powerful people. Hitler, Queen Elizabeth, Churchill, Erap, & GMA; meron pa si JMC! He he. Anyway the end month of the first quarter  of the year is already in our midst. Our WM is super–ready in our HL-88 activities this year. The announcement of activities and our preparation will be very soon, but first of all, be ready for our Lodge Summer Outing on May 16th. That will be in Pililla,  Rizal, at the home ground of our WM.

To go with it is the Awarding of Plaques and Appreciation to Hirmites Siblings’ Honorees and Graduates. Be ready to inform the HL 88 Secretariat if you have son or daughter in this category with the exception of the Kinder Garden.

THE HIRAMITES LADIES PART:  Year in and year out the Hiramites Ladies played an important part in the social function of Hiram Lodge and always headed by the First Lady of Hiramites. This year Sister Sioson will head the HL Ladies in the preparation, arrangement, games of children, and assigning to other HL Ladies whatever is/are applicable to the social function of Hiram Lodge No. 88. Ladies, we recognized your works, your cooperation, and management of your groups. Thank you.

The HL-88 RAFFLE: The HL-88 Fund Raising this year is to Raffle Prizes.  1st Prize-a good brand of 125 cc Motorcycle; 2nd- a HD TV; 3rd a desk Computer plus ten (10) consolation prizes. Price of tickets will be P250/ticket. Every Hiramite will be given a prescribe number of booklets to sell. Let us assist this project for the proceeds of this will be going to a worthy cause. That is to support the expenses to our “HIRAM LODGE 88 OFFICE”.  The tickets you will receive will be considered traveling to that undiscovered country of whose bourn no travelers return. Yes, ONLY the equivalent amount should return to the Lodge. That way each of us can lay a claim of our personal part’ assistance to this office that will be considered “THE LEGACY OF THE PRESENT GENERATION AND THE PRIDE OF THE FUTURE GENERATION OF HIRAMITES”.

HIRAM LODGE NO. 88 OFFICE:  Yes Hiramites and Brethren: for the first time in years our dream of having our own office is realized. We worked for it and stand-by in the GL day by day for the whole week to win the place by way of assisting the MW GLP in renovating and improving the very dirty and dilapidated 3rd floor fronting the Gen. Luna St. side of the GLP Bldg., that portion of the 3rd floor and its mezzanine by resurfacing, fixing the damaged flooring, repainting completely its walls and ceiling, changing tiles & toilet bowls of the two comfort rooms, putting mirrors, providing lights and fixtures throughout, cleaning and renovating, and fully repainting  the former GLP Dormitory. This cost HL-88 P315, 000 to the contractor alone    and still on a brotherly price; and to add the Aircon, office equipment, tables and other accessories for purchase to complete it as a descent office will cost HL-88 more or less a total of P400,000.00.  In return to this HL-88 Assistance to the MW GLP; GLP assigned to HL-88 the use of one office room that was renovated. Yes, it is a very good office indeed, the future pride of HL-88 over all Lodges meeting in the GLP Building.

HL-88 will be given a letter for its secured tenure of usage of this room to be honored by the GM’s office onwards, but HL-88 will pay a rent of P40/square meter with a grace period of one (1) year from the time of its occupancy. Our area may cost 1 grand to 1.2 grand per month plus the cost of our own power usage to be recorded by a HL-88 sub-meter.  We’ll have a ribbon cutting to start with and have it Christened in due time prior to our official occupancy.

Brethren 4 or 5 years ago, we wrote a check of 700 Grand to have the same size of office room without toilet in that new GLP Bldg in front; but this check was returned to us when the bldg plan was changed from a Four Storey Bldg to only Two Storey. Now this office room we got has its own private toilet for our office only.

Brethren, the four Hiramites who worked silently and honestly persisted exerting undiminished efforts to make this project possible were WMs Raymond W. Lee, Julio M. Cabali, Julito G. Sioson, and Reynato D. Puno, Jr.  We also sincerely thank WB Enrique Y. Co, PM our best effective and very powerful emissary, and WB Roy S. Tan, PM our Honorary Member, who took charge not only of the planning but also of completely advancing the total cost of renovation. The combined personal efforts of these brethren made the big difference to our advantage. Bingo!

OUR LODGE’S WORKINGS: We will have a first degree initiation for Mr. Jason M. Saldua on April 9th SM. For those brethren with assignment in this working, please check your name in the Work Portion of this NL. Please memorize your part and perform your floor work correctly. Visitors are looking in you and whatever you do will be retold in other lodges how our working was done.  So do it good, thanks.

HL-88 IMAGE NOW AND ONWARDS:  HL-88 SM Demeanor, our more than a decade GENCOM MEETING – the working horse and the cabinet director of our lodge procedures and workings, the HL-88 Masonic way of education, how we held our SMs, our handling of refreshments and treating our visitors, all these made news for HL-88 that are being known to other Lodges without us advertising it, especially our handling of Petitioners and Candidates. These we will continue to do in parallel to our good and respectable office, to maintain HL-88 IMAGE STANDARD that is professional and on the level.  We have to continue educating Hiramites’ MMs especially the newly raised to deal with our Members, and to all our Petitioners professionally as these applicants are professionals. Hiramites, let’s do it, we had already made the first steps, let us just keep it up and we will make the difference!

NEXT STATED MEETING:  As the 1st Friday of April is a Good Friday, we move backward our SM to April 9, 2010 at the Bonifacio Hall.  Officers, Members and Visiting Brethren must be seated in the lodge properly cloth by 5PM. Please mark these change of date in your calendars. We’ll ask dispensation from the Dist. NCR-D DDGM, VW Larry Reyes.
