SECRETARY’S MARCH  2010 MESSAGE

Happy Valentine Hiramites!!! I know many of us at our ages already forget the true essence of Valentine Day.  If ever there is one, the feeling is not the same as it was during our younger years.  But let us now revive it, as the saying goes, “Old Soldiers Never Dies”, in our case, “Old Lovers Never Fades”.  So date your better half to Cupidic Places that she will remember in reminiscence your early years.

HL-88 1ST SM: As the 1st Friday of Jan. falls on Jan. 1st, we held our SM on Jan. 8, 2010. It was held at the SRT because our GLP’s Hall Venue was occupied of Lodges meeting on the 2nd Friday of the month.

There was no working at the SM but only the 1st degree proficiency examination of Bro. Vincent Lim See. The brn were amazed to the proficiency shown by Bro. Vincent, “walang gatol”; he was o fluent throughout, no ah, no repetition.

DOUBLE HIRAMITES’ WEDDING:  Two Hiramites married on the same date and time last Jan. 9, 2010.  They were Bros. Francis Philip Sioson and Paul Michael C. Sansano.  They both tied their knots and said their big Yes but in different location.  Hiramites especially the Ninongs had the hard time attending their wedding as it was located far from each other: one in QC and one in Pililla, Rizal. The brethren divided their numbers to be present on both occasion. Happy Marriage Life to both of you Bros. Francis and Michael!

HL-88 OFFICER’S INSTALLATION: As always in the past year’s installation, it was a big success. The program was arranged and adjusted well.  The visitors were well taken care off.  Snacks were serving before the program of Installation thus keeping the brethren and Guests had taken something to erase their hunger and thirst.

The installation proper was done in the most solemn manner from beginning to end that the Brethren and Guests only clapped their hands after the proclamation. The WM gave his inaugural address appealing to the brethren to give him the same cooperation while the Guest Speaker explained to the Guest the workings and symbolism of Masonry. It was climaxed by the short speech of the Chief Justice and PGM Reynato S. Puno who pinned the Past Master’s Jewel and awarded the PM’s Apron, Certificate and Ring to his junior, a 3rd generation Hiramite.

In the reception shows the real number of our Guests who enjoyed partaking the foods and drinks of the Caterer complemented by the WM’s Roasted cow and 2 lechon and shrimps that made the Guests merrier while being entertained by the live band when they were eating. The Singers of the Band became obsolete when the Hiramites singers took        control of the podium and showed their sweet and hard melodies, while the Brethren were drinking and satisfying their thirst from the almost un-consumable stock of drinks. Oh, what a night that was. Congratulation to the new set of HL-88 Officers.

1st 2010 GENCOM:  The 1st Gencom on Feb. 3rd was well attended. It shows the camaraderie of HL-88 continuing from term to terms.  It reviewed all the HL yearly projects that again to be fulfilled this year.  Dates were earmarked on all the events details of each will be worked out as each event approaches.  All these will be published on this NL for the brethren information.

The 1st SM last Feb. 5th of WM Julito G. Sioson was well attended.  It was well managed, the brethren showed our lodge decorum strictly followed, and the passing ceremony performance was superb. The Visitor of our lodge will bring the news of how HL -88 holds our SM and conferrals. Let us keep it up brethren.

ANNUAL DUES: Brethren are requested to remit their A. D. now or ASAP so we can remit the equivalent GLP assessment for you to get your current Dues Cards. Please take heed.

BE ON TIME DURING SMs: Our lodge by-laws state our lodge opening at 6PM.  But the WM advised Hiramites to come early by 5PM to partake the snacks which was always served by 5PM. After the snacks and the 3 Lights are in, we will immediately open the lodge so we can finish early and have longer fellowships.

BE IN MASONIC UNIFORM:  All Brethren should be in a Masonic Uniform that is “white barong or Jusi with black pants and shoes”. This is the required Masonic Attire. Please do follow this strictly and be guided accordingly. For immediate and compulsory compliance. Thanks.

LODGE WORKINGS:  The two FCM Bros. Charleson Tiu Tan and Randell I. Reyes will be raised to the sublime degree of MM next March 5th SM. Officers should do their respective station. Practice maybe called by the WM. The same team in the 2nd section in 2009 will do their work next raising. Participants, please look your assignment at the Working Portion of this NL. Please memorize your parts. “Thanks.

NEW PETITIONERS:  We have 6 new Petitioners.  Let us follow our approved Lodge Procedures of Acceptance of Petitioners.  We’ll get their Bio-data with NBI Clearance.  No MMs will invite them to 2nd section fellowships until they become MMs if accepted.  No pre-interview on restaurants except during SM’s Fellowships and when they are interviewed by Gencom. Hiramites who want to know more of the Petitioners should borrow their bio-data from the Secretary. We will ask the brethren in attendance in open lodge before HL-88 gave Petitioners a Petition Forms. Let us treat them professionally and on the level; this is the Hiram L-88 brand of acceptance.  No military or college frat like treatment to Petitioners and Candidates. Thank you all.

BRO. RUEL ANGELES INST’LTN:  Bro. Ruel, a Hiramite will be installed as WM of Hagunoy Lodge No. 369 on Feb. 27, 2010. Yours truly is the Installing Officer. Brn. Please text me not later than Feb. 23, 2010 if you are going, so I can inform Bro. Ruel how many Hiramites are coming. Let us have a car pool, meeting place at SRT by 11AM. Got to depart by 12 Noon from SRT.  Attire: All in Barong.

NEXT STATED MEETING: Our next SM will be on March 5, 2010. Come early to partake the snacks by 5PM. Officers, Members and Visiting Brethren must be seated in the lodge properly cloth by this time.  Please be guided and govern yourself accordingly.
