Widows and Orphans Committee Report

For the Month of October, 2009

      1.   I visited Sister Illuminada Inday Fabroa in her office in Carmona, Cavite. She is

doing well. Her daughter Gail is also present.

During our conversation she mentioned that her late husband, Kuya Dodong taking care of a land property in Real, Quezon before he passed away. She would like to know of any developments of what happened to the said property.

We took some photos and I also promised to arrange for their new ID from the Grand Lodge.

After a week I visited them again, however only Sister Inday was there.  I gave her their new ID and she was glad that somehow such thing made her feel she still connected with Freemasonry.

Then we agreed they would be attending the Past Masters and Ladies’ Night.  Arrangement for her transportation from GMA, Cavite to Makati Sports Club, then back has been set.

  1. Sister Marlene David, the widow of our late Brother Virgilio David had moved to a different company. She is now working with Paramount Insurance (Life and Non-Life Insurance) in Salcedo Village, Makati.

Mara, the youngest daughter, is a 6th grade student in Dasmarinas, Cavite. Marlene would like

to transfer her to any Science High School in Makati where she can get

quality yet free education.  To do this she said they will have to rent a place to become a

resident of Makati so they can avail of the free quality education.

As of today Mara’s tuition fee on installment basis that costs PhP 1,200.00 per month and remaining balance is spread out for the last 7 months of the school year.  She will appreciate our support on her daughter’s education.  She also offered Brother Virgilio’s books on Freemasonry, if we are interested with those, or maybe we can find someone interested to buy those books and give the proceeds for paying p Mara’s tuition.  It could help a lot.

I mentioned to her about Hiram's Widow and Orphans Committee's meeting, about extending financial support and educational assistance to them that delighted Her.

She also confirmed her and Mara’s presence on the upcoming events, particularly the Past Masters and Ladies’ Night.

  1. I had a phone conversation with Sister Ruby Del Castillo, wife of our late Brother Tomas Del

Castillo.  She is doing well, so as her seven children, Nicolo, Alfonso, Dennis, Yuvfhenka,

Tanya, Santino and Martino Angelo who is special child.  Three of them are now working in Australia, namely Dennis, Yuvfhenka and Tanya.  Nicolo is considering becoming a Mason as Sister Ruby mentioned.

I also informed her that we could provide ID from the Grand Lodge that she appreciates.  She will send to me their photos.

I invited her to be with us for the Past Masters and Ladies’ night and she confirmed, but will be a

bit late since they will be coming from a house blessing.  She will be with her son Nicolo.

  1. I was able to communicate with Erwin Chan, son of our late Brother Benito Chan and Sister Flora

Ho.  He is into the business of exporting goods to different countries.   I invited them to join us in the event and he confirmed to come, together with his wife. He will also inform Sister Flora about the event.

Sister Flora was not available then as she was busy helping others by offering relief goods for the

victims of the recent flood.  Erwin himself is affected of the flood as his business warehouse submerged in the floodwaters.

Erwin is a Demolay, 40 years of age and with two kids.
